Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across New York on weekdays. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New York follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Arturo’s Coal Oven Pizza is a true New York institution and an absolute must-visit. It had been more than 20 years since I’d had authentic New York pizza, and coming back to experience it again with great friends was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible trip. We ordered a large pizza, half cheese and half pepperoni, and it did not disappoint. The coal oven gives the crust that signature crispy texture with just the right amount of char, making it perfect for folding—exactly how a New York slice should be enjoyed. The dough was outstanding, the sauce was flavorful and perfectly balanced with the cheese, and the pepperoni was delicious without being overly spicy. Between the incredible pizza, the live music, and a few drinks, Arturo’s reminded me why it’s remained a New York favorite for so many years. Sometimes revisiting a place after decades doesn’t live up to the memories—but this one absolutely did. If you’re visiting the city and want an authentic New York pizza experience, make Arturo’s one of your stops. You won’t regret it.

Absolutely loved this place. It has everything you want from a classic New York pizza spot: charm, character, and seriously great pizza. The location on Houston Street gives it that authentic Manhattan feel, and the atmosphere is warm, lively, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The coal-oven pizza was the highlight. The crust was thin, crisp, and perfectly cooked, with a great balance of sauce and cheese. Every bite tasted fresh, flavorful, and exactly like what you hope for when you’re searching for a true NYC slice. It is easy to see why both locals and visitors speak so highly of this place. A must-visit for anyone who loves New York-style pizza.

Stopped in for dinner and the jazz band Saturday night and it felt like a flashback to old New York. Arturo’s is clearly a family owned business (believe I saw the son floating around) and you get the old school feel and service when you’re inside. Every customer is treated like family. The cocktails are strong, the menu is Italian but the real highlight for me was the speedy, friendly service and live jazz band. The bartender even got in on the fun and sang a song. Great energy in the place on Saturdays which I think is when the band plays.

Arturo’s Coal Oven Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for a quintessential New York pizza experience, this place is a must-visit! From the moment you walk through the door on Houston Street, you feel the charm of a classic Manhattan pizza joint with real personality and a warm, inviting vibe. The coal-oven pizza is absolutely fantastic — beautifully crisp thin crust, perfectly balanced sauce, and just the right amount of cheese make every bite memorable. Plenty of locals and visitors rave about how well the pizza holds its own among NYC’s legendary pies. The ambiance is cozy and old-school, giving a nod to the storied history of this spot that’s been serving Italian-American favorites since 1957. Whether you’re seated inside soaking up the lively buzz or enjoying a slice with friends, the energy here is unbeatable. The friendly staff adds to the experience, making you feel genuinely welcomed like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. Beyond the pizza, you’ll find classic Italian appetizers and dishes that round out a perfect meal, but honestly, the star here is the coal-oven pie. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone craving authentic NYC pizza with character, flavor

WOW!!! We chose Arturo’s after seeing it recommended in a Reddit thread as one of the best Italian spots in Manhattan, and the moment we saw there was live jazz, we knew we had to come. We are sooooo glad we did! From the second we arrived, we felt taken care of. Our waitress suggested we grab a drink at the bar while our table was being prepared, which turned out to be the best decision of the night. Rob was the bartender — singing into the microphone and interacting with the entire restaurant as soon as we sat down. He made us and every single person we saw feel at home. I never sit at the bar, but the vibe here was unreal. We felt so comfortable that we didn’t even want our table and ended up staying at the bar the whole time. Rob asked our names once and remembered them all night. His level of genuine customer service made the experience even more special. We ordered espresso martinis and a cherry coke styled cocktail and it was perfection. The jazz music was perfect and set the mood for the whole night. The musicians were extremely talented and sounded amazing. It added such a classic, warm vibe to the experience. We asked Rob for his recommendations, and based on our pref
